Care To Stay Home is a non-medical, in-home care provider operating in California. We provide companionship, personal care assistance, and support with daily living. We are not a medical or clinical provider, and we do not collect “Protected Health Information” as defined under HIPAA.
By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or submit information to us.

- Individuals who submit information through our website contact form or other online forms
- Prospective clients and their family members who contact us about our services
- Current clients and their authorized representatives or family members

If you are a current client, additional information about how we handle your personal information is provided in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is part of your client services packet. If there is any conflict between this Policy and the Notice of Privacy Practices, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs your client relationship with us.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information in a few different ways, depending on how you interact with us.
Information you provide through our website contact form. When you fill out our contact form to ask about services, request a consultation, or send us a message, we collect the information you choose to share. This typically includes your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code or general location, the name of the person who may need care, and any details you include in your message about the care situation.
Information you provide when becoming or being considered as a client. If you move forward with us as a prospective or active client, we collect additional information necessary to provide care safely and to run our business. This includes identifiers such as your name, address, phone, email, date of birth, and emergency contacts; service information such as care schedules, preferences, and basic in-home details a caregiver needs to do their job safely; financial information such as billing details, payment method information, and long-term care insurance or VA benefit information when you ask us to bill them; and sensitive personal information such as a Social Security number where required for billing or legal reasons, and health-related details you choose to share so caregivers can provide appropriate non-medical support (such as mobility level, fall risk, dietary needs, or medications a client self-administers).
Information collected automatically when you visit our website. Like most websites, ours automatically collects limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the website that referred you to us. We may use cookies or similar technologies to help the website function properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can usually control cookies through your browser settings.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Our services are intended for adults and the family members or representatives who help arrange their care.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
To respond to your inquiry. If you submit information through our contact form, we use it to respond to you, answer your questions, schedule a consultation, or follow up about our services.
To provide care services. For active clients, we use your information to schedule caregivers, match caregivers to your needs, share what caregivers need to assist you safely, and coordinate with family members or authorized representatives about your well-being.
To bill and accept payment. We use financial information to issue invoices, process payments, and coordinate with insurers, long-term care policy providers, VA benefits, or family payers.
To run and improve our business. This includes caregiver training, quality improvement, internal record-keeping, protecting our staff and clients, and improving our website and services.
To comply with legal obligations. This includes California home care licensing requirements, tax laws, employment laws, and mandated reporting laws (such as elder abuse reporting).
To communicate with you. We may contact you about your service, send service-related notices, or, with your consent where required, send occasional information about Care To Stay Home that we think may be useful to you.
We use sensitive personal information only for the purposes described in this Policy. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Right to correct. You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information we have about you.
Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal record-keeping obligations (for example, California home care licensing rules and tax laws require us to keep certain records for a set period of time).

A note about emailing us. Standard email is not a secure method of communication. Please do not send sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or detailed health information) through our contact form or by email. If you need to share that kind of information, please call us at the number below and we will arrange a secure way for you to provide it.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide services to you and to meet our legal obligations.
- Contact form inquiries that do not result in services are typically kept for a reasonable period to follow up and respond, and then deleted or de-identified.
- Client and caregiver records are generally retained for at least three years after the end of services, as required by California home care licensing rules.
- Tax and billing records are typically kept for at least seven years.
When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
